The DeKalb Coun­ty, Geor­gia city was named among the USA Today’s 10Best Read­ers’ Choice Awards for the coun­try’s best small-town beer scene. The Lost Druid and Wild Heav­en were men­tioned in the recog­ni­tion. “Anoth­er brew­ery, Lit­tle Cot­tage Brew­ery, opened last month in the city,” accord­ing to Hansen. “All three are with­in the new open con­tain­er dis­trict.”

Pub­lic drink­ing is allowed in more and more of the coun­try, as doc­u­ment­ed in an arti­cle for Plan­e­ti­zen by Diana Iones­cu in Feb­ru­ary 2021, but usu­al­ly in spe­cif­ic, small parts of the city where open con­tain­ers have been legal­ized.
